Birthday Cake For Three

*Jayda's POV*

After our homework was done, we were all feeling a little sleepy, but daddy had agreed to let us age up after we'd got good grades. Lorraine went first, blowing out the candles and smiling to herself as she made her wish. She then stepped back and the birthday sparkles engulfed her as she made her transition into a Young Adult.

She grew up to be beautiful, just like the rest of the family and again, looked a lot like our mama, wherever she was. Her coiled up hair was brushed out and left to be natural and it suited her a lot. She had agreed to stick around for a little bit in our family, to help daddy with the chores and things and looking after us until mama came back home. She also decided that she wanted to become a ghost hunter.

Next up to the birthday cake was Jimm, stepping forward in excitement. He couldn't wait to become a teenager, get a girlfriend, go to prom, learn to drive and the other awesome things. Lorraine tried telling him that it wasn't all fun and games, but he didn't listen and aged up happily.

Unfortunately for Jimm, the birthday cake caught alight and burnt completely...

And then proceeded to burn the rest of our counters down. Daddy quickly stepped up and pulled the extinguisher out, dowsing the flames in foam. The firefighter arrived after the flames were put out which was pretty useless. Jimm decided that he didn't want a birthday cake now and just aged up anyway.

We do have some good genes in this family, that's for sure. Jimm aged up into a teen hearthrob, pulling on a baggy jumper and some skinny jeans. He wanted to become an investigator and work with the FBI when he grew up.

Next it was my turn. I didn't want to age up without mama there to see us, but I knew I had to. I mean, Jimm and I were twins, if he was a teenager and I was a child, it would be a bit strange. I stepped up to my birthday cake and took in the view of Bridgeport, wondering where my mama could possibly be. She wasn't one to miss her children's birthdays.

I frowned at my birthday cake. It looked simple, possibly shop bought. Mama would have made a cool looking cake with extra sprinkles and chocolate and fairy lights. It would have been pretty. I sighed, made my wish and blew out the candles.

As I spun on the spot and the sparkles appeared, I wished for my mama back and smiled, realising that in a few seconds, I would become a teenager.

As a teenager, I became a bit rebellious, wearing outrageous clothes and I got my nose pierced too. I did have my cheeks and my septum pierced but I had taken those out. My hair was put into a loose braid down the side and I wore makeup. I didn't know what I wanted to do when I got older, but I did know that it would be epic.

Tragedy (part 2)

*Jayda's POV*

Looking out the window, I saw a strange man creeping away from the house. I was going to ask daddy, but I could hear snoring coming from his and mama's room, so I let him sleep and just went to bed, putting the strange man out of my mind.

The next morning I woke up to the wonderful smell of birthday cakes! That meant it was time for Jimm, myself and Lorraine to age up! I woke up, ran into the kitchen to find one birthday cake on the side. It didn't look like the ones that mama usually baked for us, so I went to find everyone else.

Daddy had gone to work and Jimm and Lorraine had gone to school today, which was odd because it was a non-school day. I couldn't find mama anywhere either. I went into the living room and sat down on the sofa, flicking the channel button on the remote for something decent to watch on TV.

“Jay, you gotta eat something.”
“I’m not hungry”
"Jay, mama's popped out to the shops for something... i'm sure she'll be back soon."
"But it's my birthday. I want mama's birthday pancakes. I'll wait till she gets back."
"Jayda...."

Flynn stopped talking. He'd been visiting us, and kept trying to get me off the sofa and eating something. He had a sad look frozen on his face, like he was gonna cry. I couldn't understand why though, it's not like he was missing out on birthday pancakes. I gave up and scooted off the couch into the kitchen where I found daddy cooking up another birthday cake recipe.

"Mama usually makes the cakes. When's she getting back from the shops?"

Daddy just made a grunting noise and carried on with the cake mixture.

“Daddy? Didn’t you hear me? When’s mama getting back?”

He wouldn't look at me in the eye, but he set down the cake recipe and sighed, closing his eyes and rubbing his brow for a moment before turning back to the cake. I raised an eyebrow. Something was going on. First Flynn and now daddy. Jimm had been arguing with me earlier and had said that mama must of run away or something because I was horrible.

"Am I horrible daddy? Is that why mama's run away?"

"What!? Who told you that you're horrible?"

"Jimmy..."

"Oh, princess. It wasn't you, I promise. It wasn't you, it wasn't any of us. Mama loved us. All of us, all the same amount. She's just not here anymore... she's gone to the farm."

I paused. Farm? But he said...

"You said she was at the shops."

"I meant shops..."

"Daddy, why did you say farm? Mama didn't like the farm. Her boots got all muddy."

No reply.

"Daddy. DADDY. Why did you say farm?"

Still no reply. My bright green eyes welled up with tears threatening to overflow. I stood there, yelling at him.

"Why won't you tell me anything! You all say that I should be told the truth and you never tell me! I'm not a child anymore daddy. Where's mama gone?!"

That wasn’t true. I was still technically a child, but I’d grown up beyond that inside. Lorraine never did her chores, so I was made to do them and my twin brother, Jimm was often out with people he called friends. That just left me, daddy and mama in the house. That was until mama disappeared without any trace. Jimm kept saying that mama had been naughty with someone else who wasn’t daddy and that daddy had killed her. I didn’t believe that for one second.

“Daddy… mama’s not… “

My voice wavered on the last word of that sentence, not wanting to say it. But I needed to. I needed the truth.

“She’s not… dead is she daddy?”

Tragedy hits the Moon (Part 1)

*Jayda's POV*

Today was like any other day really. We all went as a family to Kayryn's graduation ceremony at City Hall. I'd never been to a graduation before, and as I stood with Kay, she started twiddling her thumbs and getting nervous that mama and daddy weren't gonna show.

She had nothing to worry about though, as soon everybody was inside and she was coming out throwing her hat and scroll in the air. She graduated with a pass and was most likely to succeed in her career.

Once we got back home, she immediately put on her normal clothes and phoned up the estate agents and moved out. It was quiet without her, and mama seemed to be upset, more than when Jacyi, Flynn and Marie moved out.

She kept standing out in the front yard, gazing up at the sky and our building as if she was searching for something. It felt like she was constantly in the bathroom, and nowhere else. If you asked where she was, you were told she was in the bathroom.

*Mystery POV*

There she was, just sitting in the bathtub, washing her hair and her body. I walked closer and closer to her, and she still didn't notice me standing there.

She turned and looked up at me, finally, smiled before screaming a muffled cry into my hand as I drew the knife blade across her throat.

{ Thanks for reading guys!! Pleaaseee keep commenting - I'm sorry this one is short and not very detailed or anything, just couldn't get what I wanted really... <33 }

Update!

Ok, I promise that I will get going on this blog again soon!!
Been major stressed with college work - which I still haven't done, and working.

Tomorrow I will be going to the Harry Potter Studio Tours which i'm REALLY excited about <33

... but this also means that I probably won't be able to play the game tomorrow at all, depending on what time I get home.

My step-dad put a lockdown on my computer, meaning I can only get on it from 4pm to 9pm. This really sucks as it gives me hardly any time to really get going on Jayda's life and challenge and to actually do work.

I promise y'all that I will update ASAP and hopefully with her challenge starting <33

Thank you to all who have read and commented! Keep going - I love comments <3

Birthdays!!!

So, this is all going to be done in parts, as I'm not quite ready for Jayda to be having babies and neither is she!! ;D This part is just a birthday post really. Nothing remotely exciting happens here!! :P Hopefully I'll get better as the challenge progresses! <33

[Part  3]
*Lorraine's POV*

Birthday cakes were lined up in the kitchen. One for me, one for Kayryn. Jayda and Jimm were too young for frosting at the moment so they didn't get cakes. I stepped up to my cake eagerly, thinking about what I would wish for.

I made my wish and then stepped away, letting the birthday sparkles engulf me. I grew up into a confident teenager.

Unfortunately, I blinked just as the picture was being taken.
I made sure that my hair was wavy like this each and every morning. Even though I loved my dungarees when I was a child, I decided to go for something better when I was a teenager. I threw on this outfit.

Next to grow up was Kayryn. She grew up into a beautiful young adult and she unpinned her hair, keeping it straight. She'll be moving out soon, which is sad but then again, she can start her own family and we'll all have nieces or nephews!

Then it was Jimm and Jayda's turn to age into children. Jimm went first because he was born first. He absolutely loves this t-shirt and looks a lot like Flynn did!

Jayda chose this cute little dress to wear and shoes that matched her hair colour. She was a mini mama in every single way.

*Jayda's POV*

I had grown up and was ready for school and friends and everything! Little did I know that things as I knew them would change very soon.

[ thanks for reading!! I hope that this is going alright so far, I know that it isn't exactly the most gripping of stories yet, but i'm hoping that it will become that soon ;D My brother and I have been discussing storyline's etc but I already had an idea for one in my mind which he thought was good so we'll see how that goes. Jayda has a couple more stages to get through before becoming a young adult, but unfortunately for her, bad things aren't going to wait until then. Please keep reading and commenting - I LOVE COMMENTS! I will be updating this soon hopefully, but I have work for two days straight and as I work at an adventure park, I will have no spare time to do this. I may have time after that and on Friday *fingers crossed* but then I'm working again on Saturday and have dads on Sunday. I also have TONS of college work that I was meant to have done already D: ]

Bullies and Big Brothers

So, this is all going to be done in parts, as I'm not quite ready for Jayda to be having babies and neither is she!! ;D The last part was from Kayryn's POV and this part is from Lorraine's POV to mix things up a bit! I hope you like it and I'm sorry that it's not that good. Hopefully I'll get better as the challenge progresses! <33

[Part 2]
 *Lorraine's POV*
As I was already running late for school, I ran from the bathroom into the living room to get Kayryn. She was acting odd though and wouldn't move away from her programme. In the end I just left her there. I didn't want to be later than I already was. The bus had already left so I would need to ride my bike there! I just hoped that Deidre had saved me a seat in class!

Since I was late, I was made to do dentention, but it was alright because De stayed with me all the way through. We were best friends. Best friends forever. We even had our own handshake. An hour after the last bell rang, we walked out of school and got onto the bus, sitting next to each other like always. Apart from this time, De seemed a little unhappy at having to sit next to me.

"De?"
"What?"
"Are you ok? You seem unhappy."
"I don't want to talk about it ok!"

I shrugged and left it there, waving goodbye to her as I jumped off the bus at my stop.

Once I got home, I sat at the dining room table and did my homework, while Kay got some leftovers out of the fridge. I wasn't that keen on the veggie sauce mama had poured all over the meal but I was hungry, so didn't complain too much. And besides, mama wasn't here. I could easily sneak some ice cream afterwards. I kept thinking back to how De had been acting on the bus. Come to think of it, she didn't seem happy in school either. Maybe those posh kids had been teasing her again?

They always teased me. They said horrible things, like I wasn't my mama's child and that I should go back to Texas where I belonged. Yeah, this wasn't Texas. This was Bridgeport. But still. De was from Africa. Well.. She was born in Bridgeport, but her mama and daddy were born in Africa. Therefore she was basically 99% African. We were both teased, but that was how we had become and remained friends this whole time.

The next day De came round after school. She insisted on bringing her laptop, but that was fine. We usually played together on it. This time, she sat there playing on her own and chatting to Clara.
Nobody liked Clara. Well, Clara liked Clara and she was the most popular girl in school.
The thing was, she didn't have any true friends. De and I had always been happy about that, because we had each other. And now De was talking to her?!

I got up from the table and De shut down her computer and got up too.

"Why are you sulking?"

She knew me too well.

"You're talking to Clara. Are you two best friends all of a sudden?"
"Clara's a cool person L. She's going through a tough time at the moment and wants a friend. You could be her friend too you know?"

I almost laughed. Clara didn't want me or De as friends. She wanted to hurt us. Mock us in front of everybody. I tried telling De this, but she wouldn't listen.

"Why are you being so horrible about her L?"
"Have you not been around lately?! She pushed you over and locked me in the janitor closet last week. She constantly mocks our looks and family and where we come from. And you want to be her friend?"

"I'm just saying. You should give her a chance. You're being so horrible lately. Always sniping about Clara. That's probably why she feels upset. You've probably been saying horrible things about me behind my back too Lorraine. NO WONDER YOU HAVE NO FRIENDS!"

I had no idea what to say to that so I just stared at her. My so called best friend. What was Clara doing to her to turn her against me like this? Kay came out and sent Deidre home. She tried to talk to me, but I didn't want to talk to her. She had plently of friends, she was little miss popular. I wanted to talk to someone else. I wanted my mom. I stood and stared out the window, wondering where she was now and whether she was missing me too. I hoped that she'd be back in time for my birthday tomorrow.

Kayryn read me a story and I fell asleep. I felt her kiss my forehead and then leave the room. I waited a few minutes and then jumped out of bed. I didn't even bother putting a jacket on, I just ran. I waited for the lift down to the ground floor and went and sat outside in the cold, scowling at the floor. Why was De doing this?

I got up and went towards the subway station. I would go and visit Jacyi. She'd know how to help. Just before I got on the subway, I saw this strange man hanging around.

"Who are you?"
I yelled at him, but he just ran. I shivered, getting the creeps and boarded the subway. This would take me over the long bridge to the hills where Jacyi lived.

Jacyi had become a celebrity and lived in this huge house across the bridge. Unfortunately, when I got there, nobody was in so I just stood outside for a moment, wondering what to do now. I hadn't been away that long. Not long enough for people to worry. I was just about to sneak into her house, when my phone rang.

"Hallo?"
"Lor, come home. Mama and daddy will be home in about 5 minutes. I need you here!"
"Ok. I'll be as quick as I can."

Kayryn had rung me, telling me that Mama and daddy were on their way home. The house needed to be cleaned and we needed to look as if we were sick to explain why we both weren't at school. I rode home as quickly as my legs would go. Little did I know, Mama and daddy were right behind me in the car.

When I got home, I ran into the living room, straight into mama, who had beaten me home. Stupid subways fault. She immediately got angry at me. I had betrayed her trust. She shouted at me and then grounded Kayryn. I was so shocked. I'd never seen mama yell like that before. After being shouted at, I cried and got out of her way by running away again.

I decided that I would go to see my older brother Flynn. He didn't live too far away from us and he would understand how I felt. Flynn was always getting in trouble with mama. I rang the callbox, hoping he was in. I got the nod that I could go up. Once upstairs, Flynn immediately sensed I was upset and he cheered me up by pulling funny faces and then taking me out on the terace to tell me a ghost story.

"You know, you really should go home now Lorraine."
He'd been saying this for about an hour now, trying to persuade me to go home.

"I don't want to. She has to be punished."
Flynn laughed.
"Punished? Why does mama have to be punished? You and Kay were the ones who decided to skip school! You'll have really bad grades and besides, something bad could of happened to you!"
"I only skipped because De has started being friends with Clara. They're both saying horrible things to me now. De was my best friend."

Flynn sighed and punched my arm lightly.
"Forget about them. Don't let them stop you getting the best education and being who you are. They'll grow up with no friends and you'll grow up to be awesome. But for the time being, you have to face your mama like a big girl. Go home and say sorry."
"You're right. Thank you."

We hugged and Flynn told me to visit anytime. I then ran out and went home to a very worried mama.
